I think it's obvious that whitetails are my passion. But there are other things that are important in my life as well. First and foremost is my family--my wife Geralyn, son Jake and daughter Jessie. Oh, and we recently had a new addition to our family. We have a five month-old black lab pup by the name of Duncan sharing our new house with us. He's quite the dog. His favorite chew toy is a small four point shed antler. Imagine that...
People often ask me what I do during the "off season". A lot of them are surprised to learn that I'm passionate about fishing. I'm blessed in that I live in an area (northwest Wisconsin) where there are literally thousands of lakes. And there's good fishing on just about all of them!
Without question, I love catching giant smallmouth bass more than any other fish. And trust me when I say that we do have world class smallmouth fishing here in Wisconsin. (We practice strict catch and release.) But I also enjoy fishing for largemouth and walleye. And in the spring of the year I have a blast catching big bluegills and crappies on my fly rod.
Jake and I fish together a lot. Over the past couple years he and I have put a BUNCH of fish in the boat, including a couple of huge muskies. Those big fish were released to fight another day as well.
Other than that I pretty much like to hang out at home. We recently moved into a new house, and there's always something that has to be done--like putting in a lawn, building a deck, etc. But I really enjoy doing stuff like that too.
About Jake Miller
When I'm not hunting or working for the show, I enjoy a variety of other things. My number one passion outside of hunting, is my martial arts (MMA). I've been training since June of 2007 in Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, wrestling and boxing. When I'm not "on the mat" I always try to find time for fishing and golf.
About Jeff Miller
I work full time as the Archery Shop Manager at the Eau Claire,Wisconsin Scheels store. After deer hunting, my other interests include coaching my two kids, Mariah and Masen in sports, catching big smallmouth bass, and I usually sneak in a little spring turkey hunting. (sorry Greg) Since I AM gone a lot in the fall, I try to spend a lot of quality time with my wife Tess and my kids in the summer. Since the early 1990's I have pursued whitetails in Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, North Dakota, Illinois, Wyoming, Montana, and 3 Canadian Provinces. (HOW am I still married?)
About Scott Swanson
Scott has been chasing trophy whitetails for better than 15 years. His passion, dedication and exhaustive work ethic become readily apparent when considering his accomplishments.
To date, this extremely successful hunter has taken better than 30 Pope & Young class bucks from areas across the Midwest. Without a doubt, Scott’s strongest attribute is his innate ability to quickly figure out big bucks on “foreign” lands. This aggressive hunter takes a back seat to no one when it comes to being able to pinpoint and then accurately decipher big buck sign.
It’s interesting to note that the majority of Scott’s successful whitetail hunts from the past several years have been captured on film (which means he’s no stranger to being in front of the camera). A number of these hunts have already appeared on Outdoor Channel.
Scott currently resides in Mahtomedi, Minnesota with his lovely wife, Janelle and their two children, Hannah and Cole. Along with being a full-time financial planner, Scott also owns and operates Non-Typical Properties, a real estate business that specializes exclusively in selling quality whitetail hunting land. He works in association with Midwest Whitetail Land Company out of Minnesota.
