BRP Adds Seven Bass Anglers to Team Evinrude
STURTEVANT, Wis., Feb. 24, 2011 – BRP is proud to announce the addition of seven new bass anglers to Team Evinrude, the company's elite professional fishing team, for the 2011 season.
Leading the way is 14-year FLW Outdoors veteran and 3-time FLW Angler of the Year Clark Wendlandt. With career winnings of more than $1.6 million and 34 career top-10 finishes, Wendlandt joins Team Evinrude looking to build on his already esteemed career.
"When Evinrude approached me with this sponsorship opportunity, I was honored to be in the company of names like Guido and Dion Hibdon, Denny and Chad Brauer and Larry Nixon," said Wendlandt. "Because of Evinrude's long tradition in the FLW Tour, I know that being a part of Team Evinrude will give me a significant edge this season."
Joining Wendlandt as the newest Team Evinrude anglers on the FLW Tour are Scott Suggs (Bryant, Ark.), Wesley Strader (Spring City, Tenn.), Terry Bolton (Jonesboro, Ark.), Ron Shuffield (Bismarck, Ark.), Randall Tharp (Gardendale, Ala.) and Scott Canterbury (Springville, Ala). The anglers have won more than $6 million in prizes and have more than 70 years of tournament experience on the FLW Tour combined.
"These seven anglers know what it takes to be successful on the water and they all have the experience and the desire to excel this season," said Steve Laham, vice president, Sales, Marketing and After-Sales Service for Evinrude. "They will be a great asset to our marketing efforts, helping us to show the fishing world the benefits of running an Evinrude E-TEC engine, especially in tough competition conditions."
This season, Team Evinrude bass anglers will be outfitted with the Evinrude E-TEC 250-hp H.O. outboard rigged on Ranger boats. Reliable, durable and environmentally friendly, the Evinrude E-TEC engine allows both professional and recreational anglers to spend more quality time on the water.
BRP's Evinrude E-TEC engine line-up now includes 98 engine models from 15- to 300- horsepower. All engines are available at Evinrude dealerships worldwide. Visit www.evinrude.com for more information and follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BRPEvinrude.
