Kreuters bring conservation into focus on 'Beyond The Hunt'

This Land Is Your Land
Rick and Julie Kreuter approach 'Beyond the Hunt' with a conservation slant.

When Rick and Julie Kreuter were approached in 2006 about hosting a nationally televised hunting show on Outdoor Channel, the couple's first reaction was that of genuine astonishment.

While they are both lifelong lovers of the outdoors and accomplished hunters, sharing their love of the land with millions of viewers hadn't occurred to them. But the couple quickly determined that if they were going to do it, they were going to use the opportunity to also promote their profound passion for land conservation and enduring respect for nature.

On July 1, Rick and Julie launched their seventh season of “Beyond the Hunt with Rick and Julie” on Outdoor Channel, which, in addition to featuring captivating big game hunts in breathtaking locales, will showcase sustainability and ways to nurture wildlife and land management for future generations. The hunting couple will be showcasing incredible archery hunts with their PSE bows, and episodes will include guest appearances by Pete Shepley, legendary bow hunter and founder of PSE.

"Education on the importance of our land and wildlife management is critical," Julie Kreuter said. "Knowledge is power, and if Rick and I can do our part by sharing ways to improve land management with our fans and viewers, then that can only help make the great outdoors even greater for generations to come."

The Kreuters have quickly become high profile celebrities in the hunting industry. Having more than 16 years' experience as a professional outfitter in his home state of Wyoming, Rick knows how and where to find big game. This season, “Beyond the Hunt” will showcase episodes in which both Rick and Julie each harvested world class mule deer bucks, and one in which Rick shoots what is one of the largest P&Y typical whitetails ever killed with a bow.

And, the adventure doesn't stop there -- additional hunts that will air include archery hunts for elk and muzzleloader hunts for caribou in the Arctic.

In the season finale, Rick and Julie team up with The Bobcat Company to give one lucky winner a complete land makeover in their "Create and Conserve" sweepstakes. This unprecedented event will cover the transformation from start to finish, as the team tricks out the winner's farm to grow and hold more wildlife.

"Julie and I realize that we are beyond fortunate to have the opportunity to live our dream," Rick said. "But it's not just our dream we want to share with our audiences -- we want everyone to know what a rewarding life they could have through involvement in, and appreciation of, the great outdoors."

Beyond the Hunt with Rick and Julie' airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. and Mondays at 11:30 a.m. ET on Outdoor Channel. The show is presented by RAM Trucks and PSE Archery, and sponsors include Bobcat, Hornady, Mossy Oak, Steiner, Yeti Coolers, Burris, Ammo To Go, NuFletch, and others.
