Cherry Creek State Park Seeks Volunteers for Lake Appreciation Day

AURORA, Colo. – Cherry Creek State Park will celebrate Lake Appreciation Day in conjunction with Colorado Cares Day on Saturday, July 30. Volunteers are invited to make a difference at Cherry Creek State Park, the metropolitan area's popular and valued playground. The event will kick-off at 8 a.m. at the Hobie Hill picnic area near the marina. There will be projects and activities throughout the day for all ages and abilities.

The projects will include: a shoreline clean up, Russian Olive removal and a revegetation project. There will be refreshments, but volunteers should bring a bag lunch and stay for the afternoon festivities - boat rides with a ranger, a fishing clinic, a give-a-way drawing, and other fun learning activities from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
