Jared was born November 25, 1981, in Bloomington, Indiana. In college, Jared - standing 6’11” - played for the Indiana University Hoosiers, where, in the 2002 NCAA title game, he scored 24 points and 15 rebounds against the #1 ranked team, Duke, and led Indiana to a 74-73 upset. The Chicago Tribune recognized Jared as the Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten, and awarded him the 2002 Silver Basketball. After two years at Indiana, The Washington Wizards drafted him in 2002 as their 11th overall pick.
While in the NBA, Jared would spend his off-season on the water with friends, competing for the biggest catch. Now that Jared has retired from playing, he is taking his fishing to the next level. He has perfected his techniques and wants to share his experience and knowledge with the world.
