Occupation: Lance started his LEO career in 1999 as a Patrol Officer for Canastota Police Department, in Canastota NY. In April 2000 he became a member of the Madison County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division. He then attended Basic SWAT School in Syracuse NY in 2000 and Advanced Tactics and Hostage Rescue Operations taught by LAPD in 2003.

He is the currently assigned as the Tactical Commander and his duties include high risk search warrant service, barricade gunman resolution, hostage rescue operations and any other situation that cannot be resolved at the patrol level. He also teaches response to an active shooter for the Madison County Sheriff's Office as well as several police academies. He is the recipient of the Combat Cross and the Galantry Star for Bravery, the American Legion Award and several departmental accommodations.

He is married to Karen and they have two children age 6 and 3. Lance's father, uncle and grandfather had a law enforcement background Lance followed in their footsteps. When he is not in uniform, he spends some of his free time hunting and is an avid motorcyclist.
