Yia Vang is a member of the nomadic Hmong people and was born in a Thai refugee camp. A trained chef, avid traveler, angler and hunter, he is always up for a culinary challenge. Yia uses food to tell a story and believes that every dish has a narrative. He has been featured on CNN’s United Shades of America and Netflix's Iron Chef (2022), in the pages of National Geographic, and as the cover story of the May 2020 issue of Bon Appetit.
