RIDGEFIELD, Wash. – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is reminding hunters that Columbian white-tailed deer are new to and may be seen in areas around Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, near Ridgefield, Wash., and Cottonwood Island in the Columbia River.
Columbian white-tailed deer are an endangered species and cannot be hunted. They may be present in low-lying areas from the Dibble Point near Rainier south to Sauvie Island in Oregon and from Longview south to Ridgefield NWR in Washington.
